The butcher block countertop shown has been placed slightly lower than the typical countertop height. This is done purposefully so the chef can chop and prepare food at a more comfortable level. The butcher block has a custom slot to keep sharp knives safe and handy. The cutting surfaces are treated with The Original Oil that is so safe, you can drink it. The butcher block should be recoated with oil a minimum of monthly, or if the wood appears dry. This handy surface can be sanded and recoated anytime to assure a beautiful surface.
