Cherry Facts: The cherry tree grows to be about 80 feet (24 meters) high. It typically has a trunk diameter of 2 feet (0.6 meters). Cherry is one of the largest of all North American trees. After up to 30 to 45 years of growth, cherry trees can be harvested. It is known to live for up to 258 years. Cabinetmaking and furniture are the typical uses of cherry, but it can also be used for pianos, violin bows, carving, turnery, and joinery.
